Old Boardroom, Education Centre
Merlin Park Hospital, Galway
Sláintecare is the ten-year plan to reform Ireland’s health and social care services, so that the citizens of Ireland will get the right care in the right place at the right time. It has cross-party political support and is therefore a unique opportunity to plan carefully so that people can access the health and social care services they need, as close to home as possible. One of the key goals of Sláintecare is to develop services so that most illnesses and minor injuries can be treated in the community. People will be able to stay healthy in their homes and communities for as long as possible, only attending hospital when necessary. This will result in shorter hospital waiting times for those who need to attend hospital.
