Dr. McCarthy is a consultant Cytopathologist in Cork University Hospital since 2009 and the National Clinical Lead for the Clinical Director Programme in Ireland since August 2015. She is interested in Clinical Leadership and management and is currently undertaking a diploma in Quality and Leadership hosted by the RCPI and the HSE Quality Improvement Division.
