“The Future of National Clinical Programmes”

Dr. Aine Carroll has been recently appointed the new National Director of Clinical Stragegy and Programmes. The Natinal Clinical Programmes were established to bring together health professionals to improve and standardise patient care throughout the health services. Her role is to lead these Programmes, which are setting out how clinical services will be delivered into the future.
Dr. Carrroll is a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, immediate past Chair of the Medical Board of the National Rehabilitation Hospital and Senior Lecturer at University College Dublin. Prior to her appointment, Dr. Carroll was the Clinical Lead of the Rehabilitation Medicine Programme. The Programme will provide a framework for the delivery of quality, timely and value rehabilatation services. It involves the development of regional rehabilitation services and managed clinical rehabilitation networks and the breaking down of traditional boundaries between hospitals and the community.
