The Dublin Mid Leinster regional committee looks forward to welcoming Laverne McGuinness to present at our next regional meeting in September.
Laverne McGuinness was appointed to the role of Deputy Director General in 2013. Laverne has 19 years experience in Health and she is one of the most experienced senior managers in the Health Sector in Ireland today, having first been appointed as a National Director in the HSE in December 2004. As Deputy Director General, Laverne has a challenging role and some of her key responsibilities include Service Planning for the Health Service as well as overall performance management for the delivery of health and personal social services. She also has led on the implementation of many significant change and reform programmes across the full range of health services. Laverne was appointed to the Board of the HSE in 2011 by the Minister for Health and in July 2013 she was appointed as a Director to the HSE Directorate. An accountant by profession, Laverne also holds an MSc and she has just recently completed a Professional Diploma in Corporate Governance at the Michael Smurfit Business School in University College Dublin. She has also completed a number of Executive Leadership programmers including one with Harvard University. Laverne received a prestigious award in June 2014 from WXN as one of the top 25 most powerful women in Ireland.
