Title: Universal Healthcare: What does it mean and can we afford it?
Location: Dublin Dental University Hospital
At the most recent DML Regional meeting, Prof. Charles Normand got to grips with the difficult subject of universal healthcare. During a very comprehensive presentation, he considered a number of pertinent questions which form the backdrop to any discussion on the topic. Amongst those issues raised were: what do we mean by universal healthcare, system capacity, legacy issues and affordable universal coverage. The audience were keenly engaged, with many questions following the presentation. Those present had the opportunity to network over tea and coffee where the discussion continued.
