Title: ‘A Trauma System for Ireland; overview and progress to date’

We would like to thank our speaker Mr. Keith Synnott, for giving his time to talk to us about ‘A Trauma System for Ireland; overview and progress to date’. Keith opened by telling the audience that the plans mean a big system wide change in order that patients receive care at the closest appropriate facility to where they live. This includes looking at how care is delivered for all trauma cases including relatively minor injury. Currently in year 1, this is a multi year plan. Keith discussed some of the challenges and also outlined the 11 work streams associated with implementing the system
