New Health and Safety training programmes
HMI are delighted to offer three new training programmes from our Health & Safety training providers for February 2013.
People Handling Instructor Course
Leads to a FETAC Level 6 Special Purpose Certificate in People Handling Instruction (6S0243).
The course aims to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and deliver effective training courses in manual and people handling in the healthcare environment. It is a nine day course delivered over six weeks.
Participants should preferably have a nursing or paramedical background and must have practical experience in the care and handling of people in a healthcare setting.
Dates
Course 1: 6, 7, 8, 20, 21, 22 February, 7, 8, 12 March 2013.
Course 2: 10, 11, 12, 24, 25, 26 April, 9, 10, 29 May 2013.
Course 3: 25, 26, 27 September, 9, 10, 11, 23, 24 October,13 November 2013.
Location: Peamount Healthcare, Newcastle, Co. Dublin.
Fee: €1,650 per person. A 10% discount will apply if a second participant from the same organisation attends the same course (cannot be combined with any other offer).
FETAC RPL for Existing People Handling Instructors
Leads to a FETAC Level 6 Special Purpose Certificate in People Handling Instruction (6S0243).
All existing people handling instructors must now achieve this certification through the FETAC ‘Recognition of Prior Learning Process’ (RPL). The OPS RPL process consists of a two day people handling update course and a one day skills assessment.
The course aims to update existing people handling instructors in current people handling practises and prepare them for the RPL skills assessment.
Participants should have completed an eight day people handling instructor’s course.
Dates: 25, 26 February 2013, with the RPL skills assessment on 25 March 2013.
Location: Peamount Healthcare, Newcastle, Co. Dublin.
Fee: €625 per person. A 10% discount will apply if a second participant from the same organisation attends the same course (cannot be combined with any other offer).
Display Screen Equipment (DSE/VDU) Assessor Course
Health and Safety legislation requires employers to carry out DSE/VDU workstation assessments in office environments.
The course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out standard DSE/VDU workstation assessments and promote safe work practices in an office environment. This will assist employers to comply with their obligations under the 2007 Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations: Chapter 5 of Part 2: Display Screen Equipment.
This is a two day course.
Dates: 6, 13 February 2013.
Location: Dublin.
Fee: €450 per person.
