Health Services Management – the Way Forward

The Health Management Institute of Ireland (HMI) is pleased to announce the next meeting in our successful Forum for Managers series. These meetings allow managers to discuss critical matters affecting the future shape of healthcare delivery in Ireland from a range of critical perspectives.
Our upcoming forum, Health Services Management – the Way Forward, addresses two vital strands which will contribute significantly to the future development of the health services. Implementing the Corke Park Agreement challenges managers to move beyond incremental improvement to a quantum change in the development and delivery of health services. Health economics strategies enable new levels of thinking in terms of the mechanisms for attaining sustainable improvements in patient/service users’ outcomes.
John Hennessy, RDO West, will place the forum in the context of the challenges facing operational services. Pat Harvey will discuss some of the achievements to date and will challenge managers to become more ambitious around what can be achieved. The health economics perspective can liberate managers to think about new and better opportunities for achieving improved patients outcomes.

The Health Management Institute (HMI) has arranged this Managers’ Forum as the first in a series of educational and developmental events in the West region to take place in the coming months.
