‘Medication Error’
The HMI West Region is delighted that Dr. Amanda Phelan, UCD, will present at the next regional meeting.
Dr. Amanda Phelan is the Associate Dean for Global Engagement and Subject Head of Older Persons’ Nursing in the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems in University College Dublin. She is programme co-ordinator for graduate programmes in gerontology, including a multi-disciplinary, on-line Professional Certificate in the Management of Elder Abuse programme. Amanda is also the Co-Director of the UCD National Centre for the Protection of Older People and has research interests in elder abuse, nursing expertise in residential care for older people, community nursing and financial abuse of older people. Amanda holds the position of national representative for the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and acts as Secretary of the All Ireland Gerontological Nurses’ Association.
